Tom Sullivan Announces Semi-Retirement from The Daily Show

iHeartMedia announced that beloved radio personality Tom Sullivan, after decades of captivating audiences nationwide, is stepping down from his daily radio show on iHeartMedia Sacramento’s NewsRadio KFBK, effective Friday, May 30.

Tom Sullivan’s broadcasting career began in Sacramento in 1980, when he expanded his successful career in financial services to include daily business news reports on Sacramento’s KFBK NewsRadio (93.1 FM/1530AM). His financial background brought a unique and authentic perspective to his reports, quickly making him a trusted expert on economic and financial topics. Sullivan’s work expanded into a general topic talk show (often through a ‘money’ lens) at the urging of his colleague and friend Rush Limbaugh, who was a local talk radio host at KFBK.

Sullivan began serving as a fill-in talk show host, first on KFBK and later on Rush Limbaugh’s nationally syndicated show, and his success took his career to New York in 2007 where he became one of the pioneer broadcasters of cable television on the Fox Business Network Channel. While on Fox Business, Sullivan expanded his daily radio show nationwide on Fox Talk Radio, and most recently on Talk Media Network with KFBK as his flagship station.

Known for his thought-provoking discussions, common sense perspectives, and ability to cover breaking news as it happens, Tom Sullivan’s warmth and authenticity have endeared him to fans in Sacramento and across the country. While Sullivan will no longer host a daily show, he plans to stay connected with listeners by launching a new podcast.

“I am going to hang up the microphone…not completely…this show will come to a screeching halt on May 30th.  After that going to dabble in world of podcasting…I feel fine, feel healthy, and want to go out on top. I’ve been doing radio for 45 years…how grateful I am for each and every one of you. It’s time to move down the road and take the microphone from radio to podcast”

In the next few weeks, KFBK NewsRadio will be announcing plans for the time slot currently held by “The Tom Sullivan Show.”
