Spotify and Apple Music Unveil Year-End Summaries for 2025

Spotify Wrapped Launches for 2025

This week, Spotify users received one of the most awaited notifications: “Your 2025 Wrapped is here.” The streaming platform has rolled out its annual recap, providing subscribers with a personalized highlight of their music, podcast, and audiobook consumption over the past year.

Since its introduction in 2015, Wrapped has evolved into a global phenomenon, engaging over 700 million users worldwide. Many listeners eagerly share their stats on social media, turning them into fun conversations and shared experiences.

Wrapped covers music listened to from January through mid-November, intentionally allowing users to avoid the influence of Christmas music on their year-end stats.

Top Artists and Songs of 2025

For the fourth consecutive year, Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny has claimed the title of Spotify’s most-streamed artist, amassing an impressive 19.8 billion streams. He previously held this title from 2020 to 2022 before being replaced by Taylor Swift in 2023 and 2024.

Bad Bunny’s influence extends to having the most-streamed album worldwide with “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.” Meanwhile, the most-played song globally is the duet “Die With a Smile” by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, which has garnered over 1.7 billion streams.

Taylor Swift remains a strong contender, finishing 2025 as the second most popular artist globally, while leading the U.S. charts ahead of Drake, Morgan Wallen, and Kendrick Lamar. Bad Bunny rounds out the U.S. top five.

In the American market, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s collaboration “luther” is the top song, followed closely by “Die With a Smile” and Alex Warren’s “Ordinary.” Country artist Morgan Wallen’s album is the most-streamed in the U.S. for the year.

Podcast and Audiobook Highlights

On the podcast front, “The Joe Rogan Experience” has maintained its position as Spotify’s most-streamed show globally for the sixth year running. It is followed by “The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett” and “The Mel Robbins Podcast.”

In the audiobook category, titles from Rebecca Yarros and Sarah J. Maas have risen to the top, showcasing Spotify’s growing interest in this segment.

Interactive Features and New Additions

This year, Spotify has made Wrapped feel more like an interactive experience rather than just a static summary. They’ve introduced new features, including Wrapped Party, which allows friends to compare their listening habits in real time, gamifying the experience.

To access their personalized Wrapped, users must have listened to at least 30 tracks and streamed a minimum of five different artists. Streams in Private Mode do not count toward these totals. With the updated mobile app, users can easily find and share their Wrapped experience.

Apple Music’s Response

In a timely response, Apple Music has launched its own year-end recap, Apple Music Replay ’25. This feature, accessible via the Apple Music app and the web, aggregates a user’s top songs, artists, and albums, while providing insights into listening habits.

Much like Spotify, Apple Music also offers a highlight reel suitable for social sharing. The top song globally on Apple Music this year is Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT.”

As the year wraps up, platforms like YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and SoundCloud have also introduced their own versions of year-end summaries, reflecting a growing trend in the streaming industry.
