BMI hosted “An Evening with Eric Church” in Washington, DC on March 26, 2025. The acclaimed Country music artist shared insights into his songwriting process and the stories behind his popular hits like “Hippie Radio,” “Mr. Misunderstood,” “Carolina,” “Hell of a View,” and “Springsteen.”
Attendees, including members of Congress, Congressional staff, and DC music community members, were welcomed by BMI CEO Mike O’Neill. He emphasized BMI’s support for songwriters and addressed key issues affecting music creators, such as generative AI and the need to protect artists.
During the event, Church delighted the audience with snippets of his chart-topping tracks and concluded with a special preview of “Johnny,” a new song from his upcoming album “Evangeline vs. The Machine,” set for release on May 2, 2025.
Throughout his successful career, Church has launched nine albums and achieved over 36 gold and multi-platinum singles. He holds seven ACM Awards, four CMA Awards, and has been nominated for ten GRAMMYs. Recognized as a BMI songwriter since 1995, Church has received 18 BMI Awards for his exceptional songwriting skills and outstanding performances.
