Since the release of Strange Disciple in September 2023, Nation of Language have further reaffirmed themselves as โ€œthe best synth-pop band in the worldโ€ (Paste), from topping Rough Tradeโ€™s Top 100 Albums of 2023 to selling out nearly every one of their US, EU and UK tour dates last year, to dominating the radio waves at KCRW (listener-voted Top 10 album), KEXP (listener-voted #2 AOTY), SiriusXMU (โ€œSole Obsessionโ€ Top 10 SOTY, โ€œWeak In Your Lightโ€ added to Alt Nation) and dozens of college stations across the country, debuting on their first-ever Billboard charts, and earning praise from Pitchfork, Vice, LA Times and many others listed below.

Alongside acclaim in North America, Nation of Language landed the #1 Rock Album at Tower Records (Japan), AOTY support from Clash (UK), 3 songs on RadioEins Top 100 of 2023 (Germany) as well as further AOTY support at Le Monde and Tรฉlรฉrama (France), Avopolis (Greece) and ParcoParanoico (Italy).

Strange Disciple explores themes of hopeless devotion, toxic infatuation, outrage-baiting news cycles, the battle of agony vs. ecstasy and more across highlights like โ€œSole Obsession,โ€ โ€œWeak In Your Light,โ€ โ€œSightseerโ€ and โ€œToo Much, Enough,โ€ which arrived with a music video starring Westworldโ€˜s Jimmi Simpson, Reggie Watts, Kevin Morby, Tomberlin, Adam Green and more. โ€œNation of Language have never released a bad song,โ€ says AV Club. โ€œAnd with this record, that streak remains blessedly unbroken.โ€
