Mass Shooting at Lawrenceโs Fish and Shrimp Restaurant
On Sunday, a tragic shooting incident occurred at Lawrenceโs Fish and Shrimp Restaurant in Chicago, resulting in one man dead and three others injured. The incident began early in the morning, around three oโclock, in the parking lot of the restaurant on Canal Street. According to the Chicago Police, an argument between two groups escalated into a deadly confrontation.
The police received frantic 911 calls reporting the shooting. The victims included 39-year-old Joseph Garcia, who was fatally shot. A 27-year-old man sustained critical injuries, while a 34-year-old man was shot in the leg and is currently listed in fair condition. Another victim, a 21-year-old man, is in good condition. Second Incident at McDonaldโs on Southwestern Avenue
Hours later, another violent episode unfolded at a McDonaldโs restaurant located on the 7800 block of Southwestern Avenue in Chicagoโs Southwest Side. Around 8:30 in the morning, a man entered the restaurant and demanded free food. When his demand was not met, he pulled out a hatchet and began attacking people inside the restaurant.
The attacker, described as an irate male in his 30s, severely injured a 45-year-old woman, who is now in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Additionally, an 18-year-old man and another 45-year-old woman were also injured and are in good condition.
Witnesses and local activists have revealed that this was not the first encounter with the hatchet-wielding man. He was known to be a regular at the McDonaldโs, and the staff had previously called 911 regarding his behavior, but no action had been taken.
