
Today Sony Music Publishing announced the promotion of Jeff Smarr to Senior Vice President, Global Copyright, effective immediately. Based out of SMP’s Nashville office, Jeff will continue to report to EVP, Worldwide Administration, Dale Esworthy.
In this elevated position, Jeff will take on a greater role across strategic initiatives and high-profile deal and acquisition integrations. He will continue to oversee SMP’s Global and North American Copyright Administration teams.

With an expansive 31-year career at the company, Jeff has been instrumental in the continued growth of Sony Music Publishing and its songwriters, supporting the advancement of key catalog acquisitions including ATV, Acuff-Rose, Famous, and EMI, and advancing support on behalf of some of the world’s most iconic songwriters and composers.
