Michelle Rutkowski, a Chicago native with over two decades of experience in radio, is the new Brand Manager of 93XRT (WXRT-FM), an Audacy station. Effective October 13, Rutkowski will oversee the station’s content strategy, talent, operations, and branding. She takes over from Laura Duncan, whose tenure will end on November 3.

Rutkowski has an extensive background in radio, having started her career at WKQX and WLUP before moving to Milwaukee’s WLUM in 2006. There, she quickly rose from nighttime personality to Music Director and Programmer. In 2016, her responsibilities expanded to oversee programming across three stations, including WLDB and FONZ.
Most recently, Rutkowski served as the Vice President of Programming and Operations for Milwaukee Radio Alliance, where she led the launch of Froggy, a new country station that focuses on emerging artists.
Kevin Cassidy, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Audacy Chicago, expressed excitement about Rutkowski joining the WXRT family, citing her deep knowledge of the format and her strong regional relationships. “We look forward to her replicating the success she achieved in Milwaukee for WXRT,” he said.
Rutkowski shared her enthusiasm for returning to her hometown, saying, “This iconic station has influenced me so much as a listener and shaped my deep love of music. I’m thrilled to continue the legacy of WXRT and make it a beloved Chicago treasure.”
