WZLX Announces Chuck Nowlin Morning Show

iHeartMedia Bostonโ€™s 100.7 WZLX, โ€œBostonโ€™s Classic Rockโ€, announced today that Boston radio legend and longtime Afternoon Drive host Chuck Nowlin will anchor a brand-new morning show on 100.7 WZLX. Starting Monday, Chuck will be joined by market veteran Danielle Murr and WZLX Program Director, Chris Tyler.

โ€œThe Chuck Nowlin Morning Showโ€ will broadcast on 100.7 WZLX weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. In addition, the show can be streamed as a podcast on iHeartRadio, the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are available, with new episodes airing every weekday.

Chuck Nowlin is the longest tenured on-air talent on WZLX, hosting Afternoon Drive for over 3 decades. A Massachusetts native, Nowlinโ€™s deep market knowledge and sharp sense of humor have made him a fan favorite with WZLX listeners.

โ€œAfter years of working the fryolator during the afternoon rush, Iโ€™m psyched to take the paper trainee hat off to manage the morning shift and start the day with Boston,โ€ said Nowlin.

Danielle Murr has been a fixture of the Boston radio landscape for over a decade. Prior to joining WZLX, Murr worked as Morning Drive co-host on WAAF and WEEI.

โ€œMy passport needs a break, so Iโ€™ve decided to get back to my rock and roll roots,โ€ said Murr. โ€œIโ€™m thrilled to return to the morning airwaves in Boston, and bring a dose of sanity to start the dayโ€”while undoubtedly driving Chuck and Tyler crazy. Iโ€™m excited to add my brand of wit and wisdom to the immensely-talented team at WZLX and iHeart Boston.โ€

Chris Tyler, WZLX Program Director will also be joining the morning show team while continuing in his current role. Tylerโ€™s other notable rock radio Programing highlights include Program Director duties at WMMS and WHJY.

โ€œIโ€™ve been lucky enough to manage some amazing talent over the years, and Chuck is at the top of that list,โ€ said Tyler. โ€œHe is beloved by the loyal WZLX audience. So, it only makes sense that he hosts the new morning show. What doesnโ€™t make sense is me getting up at an ungodly hour every day to be a co-host. He promised me a box of expensive cigars, which I still havenโ€™t received. Oh well, letโ€™s go Boston!โ€
