CMG Jacksonville TV Appoints New Director of Sales

Cox Media Group (CMG) Jacksonville TV, which includes WFOX-TV and WJAX-TV (WJAX is owned by Hoffman Communications and operated by CMG), announced that John Palmer will become its new Director of Sales on Monday (March 16).

Palmer has been with the stations for more than 21 years. Over the last 11 years, heโ€™s been the Local Sales Manager, where he led the team to record-breaking revenue sales and growth.

โ€œIโ€™m confident that Johnโ€™s extensive experience, proven success, and vision for our clients will continue to drive outstanding results for Jacksonville sales and traffic teams,โ€ said Omesh Somaru, VP and General Manager for CMG Jacksonville TV. โ€œBeyond his impressive business acumen and success, John has demonstrated exceptional leadership in developing talent within our organization.โ€

Jacksonville TV is perhaps best known for Action Sports Jax 24/7, the first-of-its-kind sports network focused on covering local sports, including the Jacksonville Jaguars and all other local professional, college, and high school sports. The network debuted one year ago โ€“ in March 2024.

Innovations like this, in addition to the stellar ratings for both WFOX-TV and WJAX-TV, are valuable for connecting with new clients and serving existing ones, according to Palmer.

โ€œThe strength of both stationsโ€™ viewership enables us to provide high-quality content that a vast number of viewers desire,โ€ Palmer said. โ€œThis makes these stations highly appealing to local businesses aiming to connect with the substantial audiences we attract.โ€

Palmer resides in Jacksonville with this wife, Patti, and their two children.
